Hello, my name is Mariami and I come from Georgia. I decided to join this ESC project because I wanted to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I really enjoy communicating with people of all ages and this experience has given me the chance to do exactly that. It also gave me the opportunity to explore myself, step out of my comfort zone and grow personally. Through this project I’ve met other volunteers and made great new friends along the way. This experience has been an exciting journey of personal growth, cultural exchange and new discoveries.

As an ESC volunteer at our youth center in Perg, I’m really happy to be part of such a welcoming and inspiring environment and team. This experience allows me to explore a new country, meet people from different cultural backgrounds and connect with individuals of all ages. Every day brings new learning opportunities, fun moments and meaningful conversations. I’m grateful to be part of a place that values teamwork, community, diversity and personal growth. This opportunity has given me the chance to explore a new country, discover its culture and also meet amazing people from all over Europe and beyond. I’ve learned so much by working with young peopleas well as connecting with individuals of different ages, backgrounds and life experiences. I get to take part in a variety of projects each one bringing something new and exciting. Every day at the youth center is full of opportunities whether it’s helping with creative activities, joining events or simply having meaningful conversations. I’m truly grateful to be part of a place that values diversity, encourages learning and makes everyone feel welcome.

Name: Ali Aliahmed
Country: Palestina

My year as an EVS volunteer at the Jugendzentrum Perg was truly life-changing. It was my first time in Europe, and coming from Palestine, everything felt like an adventure. I faced many challenges—living on my own, learning German, and working with young people in a language I didn’t yet speak—but each challenge became a source of growth. I learned independence, patience, and how to connect with others beyond words. This experience inspired me to continue volunteering and youth work back home, which later shaped my career and opened new opportunities. Most importantly, I built lasting friendships and unforgettable memories that I still carry with me today.
